Brisbane City Council Support QLD All Schools 2020

Friday 24 September

Queensland All Schools Touch Football and Queensland Touch Football are proud to announce that the 2020 QLD All Schools will be once again supported by Brisbane City Council.

QLD All Schools, now in its 38th year, is the world’s largest touch football tournament for secondary schools and typically brings over 6000 participants and an additional 6000 spectators to the Brisbane region.

Tournament Director, Peter Bell said “this partnership has allowed us to continually develop and grow the QLD All Schools event. Although the 2020 event looks a little different this year due to COVID, we look forward to another fantastic year with the support of Brisbane City Council and hope it will provide some normality to students who have had a rollercoaster year.”

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said he was pleased this year’s tournament was able to go ahead.

“Coronavirus has impacted so many people this year and I know thousands of people have been looking forward to this event for some time,” Cr Schrinner said.

“Brisbane City Council is pleased to have been able to provide funding to help this event happen and I wish the more than 350 teams the best of luck in what is sure to be a fantastic tournament.”

The QLD All Schools 2020 will be held at Whites Hill Reserve between Wednesday 7 and Sunday 11 October 2020. Queensland Touch Football and the Queensland All Schools are committed to running a safe and enjoyable event and will be following the Industry Approved COVIDSafe Industry Plan – Field Sports and will have restrictions in place throughout the venue.

Unfortunately, due to the current COVID-19 environment, no spectators will be allowed to attend the 2020 event, however the event will see over 350 teams in attendance over the five-day tournament. More information on the events COVIDSafe practices can be viewed here.
